FORREX produces a suite of publications designed to extend science-based information and innovations in natural resource management. Oriented towards a broad
audience in the policy, management, and operational realms, FORREX publications support our strategic goal of providing quality, timely, useful, and efficient
information products.
All FORREX publications are freely available to the public via our Web site. For print subscription information, please follow the links to each publication. Regular publications include:
The peer-reviewed BC Journal of Ecosystems and Management informs readers about innovative approaches to sustainable ecosystem management, and provides a forum for commentary on current issues and challenges. Aimed at natural resource management decision makers in diverse sectors, JEM extends research results, indigenous knowledge, management applications, socio-economic analyses, and scholarly opinions. LINK Newsletter LINK, FORREX's newsletter, increases readers' awareness of innovations in natural resource management through succinct, readable articles. LINK presents brief descriptions of new research results, recent events, and information sources along with links to more details. Streamline Watershed Management Bulletin The goal of Streamline is to increase communication, awareness, and knowledge of research and innovation in watershed management. Central to Streamline's content are management activities that affect water resources and associated values. Streamline articles undergo technical review to ensure accuracy and relevance to audiences interested in watershed management. FORREX Series To explore certain topics in detail, or to summarize event proceedings, authors use our FORREX Series, which may be co-published with collaborating organizations. Readers can find in-depth, peer-reviewed information on a range of natural resource management topics, contributing to the body of literature that supports sound decision making. File Reports File reports serve to document project/event processes and results, and include needs assessments, workshop summaries, and discussion papers. Documenting this information ensures that summaries of events and processes are catalogued and discoverable for reference in future initiatives. Joint Publications FORREX seeks opportunities to collaborate on publications with partners and other interested organizations with the aim of maximizing reach and cost-efficiency. When our formats and distribution fits the needs of another organization, we work with them to meet our quality standards and their goals; likewise, when a non- FORREX product helps us to achieve a strategic or learning objective cost-effectively, we collaborate with others to define shared goals and processes.
