FORREX Annual General Meeting & Science Forum
September 27 — September 28, 2006
Thompson Rivers University, Kamloops, British Columbia
Are you someone with expertise in the areas of science, policy and sustainable resource management planning? Are you motivated to affect positive
change in a knowledge-based economy? We would be honoured if you would consider our invitation to submit a popular summary that describes where your
work has influenced science and knowledge relating to a specific topic within the conference theme: "The Art and Science of Sustainable Resource
Management Planning." As time for oral presentations is limited, we are encouraging you to submit a poster presentation. Ample time will be allotted
over the two days for you to interact with forum participants and share your knowledge with them. Your information will also be shared through an
upcoming issue of the BC Journal of Ecosystems and Management, reaching over 3000 people.
The purpose of this forum is to:
- Profile effective sustainable resource management planning at various scales and from a variety of perspectives
- Demonstrate and discuss where science and Indigenous knowledge has informed and supported innovative plans
- Identify successful pathways to informed decision making; and,
- Demonstrate value for public investment in science and innovation.
Submission:
Please consult the Guidelines for Popular Summary Authors and forward your intent to submit, then your final popular summary to
chris.hollstedt@forrex.org. Popular summaries will be compiled and posted online and provided to forum
attendees. They will also be published in an issue of the BC Journal of Ecosystems and Management.
