Enabling a Knowledge based Natural Resource Sector

Project Abstract:
The Forest Science Program and Provincial Forest Extension Program and strives to be recognized nationally and internationally as an effective and efficient model for knowledge management and extension services. In addition, we strive to influence and enable a knowledge based natural resource sector. This project will oversee the design and implementation of a number of provincial, national and international presentations, forums, and think tanks through our involvement in initiatives of strategic importance. They include, but are not limited to: the Forest Science Board and associated Program; the Sustainable Forest Management Network; the International Union of Forest Research Organizations; the Social Science and Natural Resources Forum; presentations at conferences and forum; and, several BC based leadership forums. Activities in this project will also ensure that Provincial Forest Extension Program actions are integrated across all constituent interest areas and program teams are contributing to the overall goals and objectives of the Program.
