Enabling a Knowledge-Based Natural Resource Sector
Project Abstract: The Forest Science Program and Provincial Forest Extension Program strive to be recognized nationally and internationally as an effective and efficient model for knowledge management and extension services. In addition, we strive to influence and enable a knowledge-based natural resource sector. This project will oversee the design and implementation of a number of provincial, national, and international presentations, forums, and think tanks through our involvement in initiatives of strategic importance. They include, but are not limited to: the National Forest Strategy Coalition and the BC Chapter of this initiative; the International Union of Forest Research Organizations (IUFRO); the International Symposium on Society and Resource Management (ISSRM); presentations at conferences and forums; and, further development and implementation of a continuous forest resource learning strategy for British Columbia.
