Management Questions—Science Answers: Science to Management Forum Series
Project Abstract: The rate of social, economic and environmental change is unprecedented not only in British Columbia but globally. Leaders in this community need the most up to date and reliable information to inform their policy and management decisions. They also need a forum for bringing critical issues to the innovation dialogue. People who work in the knowledge sector (research, technology development, commercialization, and extension) strive to enable these decision makers with knowledge and engage with them in addressing their issues and knowledge gaps. Building on the success of the first forum in 2000 (Hollstedt, C. 2000. From Science to Management and Back), the regionally based series of Science to Management Forums will showcasing current research results and the application of science in innovative technology and management approaches. It will also be a forum for dialogue on imminent and emerging issues facing the resource sector. FIA Forest Science Program and Landbase proponents will have an opportunity to network with resource sector leaders and practitioners in an interactive exchange of knowledge, issue, and boundary spanning ideas.
