Grasslands and Dry Forest Stewardship

Project Abstract:
Fire maintained dry forests and associated grasslands in the IDF, CDF, PP and BG are of provincial conservation concern. Grasslands are the rarest cover type in BC, and are concentrated in BEC zones of conservation concern. Management challenges include fire suppression/forest ingrowth, grazing management, understorey vegetation monitoring, invasive plants, land conversion and habitat fragmentation.
